Word is Bond - you are the central bank of your word Part 3

In part 2 of this series, we discussed what happens when you suck at communicating. People who would, or already have grown to depend on and trust you will lose that trust when your communication is not up to par. I was once told that the difference between inflation and hyperinflation is trust. Your word is like a currency you use to exchange ideas between people(yourself included). If people lose trust in your word, then your currency goes to zero. We can call this Verbal Hyperinflation.

So, how do you avoid this, Verbal Hyperinflation? Good question. The key is maintaining and growing trust between the people you communicate with. And this starts with building the trust you have with yourself.

You communicate effectively by being internally clear on what you are trying to convey and the objective you want to accomplish. This clear vision of the north star you are aiming at will help guide you on the effectiveness of your communication.

To sum everything up, I'd say: know your communication objective(what you want to happen by communicating this idea), organize your supporting thoughts on the matter, and go for it. Run this playbook and your verbal currency will maintain strength in the competitive communication markets.

Personal

1.) So, while I've been away, I've been focusing on family, my full-time job, and getting back into coding. I used to be a front-end developer a few years back but put it down as I got more business/operations focused in my career. But, I've always known I was meant to build. This is why I've been spending time building a dual-purpose tool: i.) Focus my energy on building back up my full-stack skills, and ii.) A useful tool I can actually leverage to help with putting out stuff for you guys, my homies. That tool is "The Hodl Blog Generator" (THBG) not a very catchy name, but whatever. When creating new editions of THE HODL, one of my biggest challenges was having an easy way to capture new ideas, stories, and other content I wanted to use for each edition, and then organizing it in a simple repeatable format. So that's exactly what THBG is, a simple tool where I can draft new blog/newsletter posts in the same format and continuously edit it along the way until it's finished. So it's done, well v1 is done. I posted the code on my Github - check it out, run it on your local machine, and let me know if you like it!

2.) In November I released a review of the book "Strong Towns" through a Bitcoin lens. I enjoyed the book and learned a lot, definitely recommend reading it.
